Week 24
Our final piece in our Colorado plein air series! This experience has given me a new perspective and great deal of respect for plein air artists! We went back close to the area we did for earth; skies are absolutely magnificent. We've gotten our set up and tear down down to a science. And know to expect sudden massive wind Gusts. We used the car as a partial buffer this time.
I don't know if it's the freedom of the location or the subject matter or my artistic hairdo, but I feel free and confident here. Laert started blasting though the sky and I the body below. And then we switch to add touches of our own. I had so much fun putting pink into the clouds. The strokes are subtle and beguiling. Laert did the strokes of vermillion in the earth. I'm better at the up close right now. But the image must be captivating from distance and up close- with different things to intrigue at each.
We finished this one so quickly it was a surprise. 30 minutes. I am so thankful to have experienced this plein air adventure. Ready to get back into our Texas studio though!
