Amongst The Knees
Amongst The Knees
Week 141
Beginning eagerly on the top half, I focused on soft edges and long, loose strokes. Laert worked industriously on the lower. Then I shook out of the tunnel vision of creating, I was at first dismayed, the cohesiveness we strive for was completely forgotten! It was two different paintings and styles. Laert, unfazed said “stand back”. As I got distance, the piece morphed. The sharpness of the reflection paired with the vaporous forest came into focus. It is probably the only time we have not gone back in towards the end to add our touch to the areas we had worked least on, to give the painting “oneness”. Somehow in our exuberant creating, we co created in a way that was new- our own, and yet so complimentary. It naturally had its own “oneness”, much like the steady tree and its moving reflection. It was a surreal feeling, one that matched silently passing through this magical winter water forest.
