Week 106

Burnt umber? Check. Naples? Check. Stocking our travel easel for a live demo in front of a few hundred had me swirling my thoughts. Excitement and secret worries flooded me.

The next morning, duo coffees in hand,  the wind briskly blew through our hair as we linked arms and walked the long breezeway to our station. I’ve never felt so “together we will conquer all” than this morning. The things I’d worried over vanished and my brush lead the way. There was only the art at hand ( my familiar friend) and my love by my side.

We giggled together as we made jokes. There we new people with questions and friends with hugs. We met them all with gusto.

As we met with those there enjoying the art, we moved slower but our hearts beat fast. In hoping to inspire, you will always be inspired. In aiming to encourage, you will feel the hearty hand of encouragement and love clapping back. Reaching out to give in the way you do will always be returned with more. Here, our model bathed in golden afternoon light, reaches out in the same way with his  offering. The purity of this moment shows that simple exchange of goodness. Giving, receiving. He isn’t concerned with the gravel in his toes or that his hat is now cocked to one side, he is focused on the gift he brought and creating that connection. A reward of a velvety touch and the quiver of excitement that runs along his body is instant gratification. The wonder of the wild is at hand.  Giving, receiving. Always giving back. The return is always greater.
