Jeweled Night
Jeweled Night

Week 32
We laughed a lot tonight. You know those days where things are just rolling your way (even when things are breaking apart around you)? Probably has more to do with actually getting some rest, but today I felt so ready to paint, and excited, really looking forward to this one. The deep jewel tones really pull me in and are delightfully enveloping.
Since it was tall and thin, we took to levels to begin, meeting in the middle before dancing back out over our canvas. Working with so much darkness next to light (while both are wet) is a big challenge. If the darkness catches your brush and comes into the light, it is hard to cover or eradicate. It's a tremulous line to walk. This one is about the light inside of the darkness. So much subtlety and color!
